Knowing More About Religion

May 7, 2013 under Trending Topics With Religion

Religion is a compilation of both cultural and belief systems. Different religions have many and different symbols, traditions and histories that help people understand the origin of life. Even when there are indifference’s in some of the groups of people in regards with their faith, they still praise and worship God. The most common traditions of Catholic for example are that, their believers or worshipers visit the church every Sunday. This has been like this for thousands of years and as of now, the bond of our faithfulness has become even stronger.

Whenever we have problems, we always pray that it will go away someday. This practice of praying has continued also for thousands of years and even up to now. It has been passed to a lot of people and even no matter what belief you have, a good majority of people would consider that praying is beneficial.  In some countries, their faith is different. There are Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Shinto, Sikhism, and Jainism. As explained at the top, they only pray for one person. Even when it may be Allah or Buddha, they only mean one thing and that is God.

Even when religion grew as a lot of people have received the word, there are always people or group of people who would deny this and doesn’t believe in faith. These people are called Atheists. They normally don’t believe in God and there are two reasons for this. They might not have proper education regarding religion or they might be skeptical as they are not open-minded enough. But, even when they are against the majority of people’s faith, we can’t blame as that is the path they chose based from their ideas and concepts. There are also group of people who are known as Anti-Christ. They are the so called rebels of faith that has existed for a long time.

They are hiding from the public as they can be judged by a lot of people. They could even engage to endless battles with tons of believers of God. Their faith is reverse as they believe more on Satan. Needlessly to say, you should set aside your emotions and don’t mind these rebellious groups and just stick to what you believe in. Even things get so personal when it comes to religious arguments with the different group, just stay calm and just fight for your own cause of belief.

Same Sex And Religion: The Great Debate

March 15, 2013 under Same Sex And Religion

Lately, there has been much talk about same sex and religion. The same sex topics include gay marriage and homosexual sex. Most of the great religions of the world are said to explicitly condemn such activity. Islam issues the death penalty for such actions but much of the focus has been on the reaction of religions in the Western world.  Much of the western world is interested in how they look and resort to using diet products like green coffee bean extract to lose weight.

If we examine the Bible, we will see that word of God condemns homosexual behavior. It is said to be immoral and is compared to bestiality. There is even a story in the Bible about a land called Sodom. This land is overrun by homosexuals. Things have gotten so bad in Sodom, that the Lord decides to destroy the land. Some angels ask to be sent their in order to find any righteous people and lead them out of the land before it is destroyed. The angels find a man named Lot and he is a righteous man.

After the angels arrive, the house of Lot is surrounded by men who ask Lot to send out the angels so that they may have relations with them. Lot is so disgusted by the thought that he offers the men his virgin daughters instead. Eventually, the angels lead Lot out of Sodom and then God destroys the city by raining down fire and brimstone. Everyone in the city dies a horrible death.

It is interesting to see the way that the fight for rights for same sex couples interferes with the right of free speech. Pastors and preachers have even been fined and jailed for preaching the words of the Bible. Recently, a group of people have published a Bible that discounts the verses against homosexuality. This Bible is known as the Rainbow Bible and is certain to cause quite a stir in fundamentalist circles.

Trending Topics With Religion

March 11, 2013 under Trending Topics With Religion

The United States is so often thought of as a Christian nation that many people are not aware that affiliation with Christian churches is actually in decline in the country. The religious right in the United States still commands a lot of press attention and exerts considerable political power. However, demographic analysis such as that provided by the Pew Forum poll in 2012 shows that adolescent Americans are far less likely to be religious than their parents. Those young people who continue to belong to churches such as the Southern Baptists profess a version of faith that is very different than that of older generations.

The young are far more socially liberal in their interpretation of religion than their elders. They are more likely to be concerned with being good stewards of the earth and to look after the poor among us. Many of the young who are

Christian have a strong commitment to social justice as part of their faith. For the most part, they have no interest in denouncing homosexuality on religious grounds. On average, they attend church services far less frequently than their parents.

At the same time that fewer people are claiming to be affiliated with any church or religion, the percentage of those who claim to be atheists, agnostics, or unaffiliated is growing quite rapidly from 15% in 2007 to 19% in 2012. More than five percent of Americans claim to be atheistic or agnostic and the number is rising quickly. This trend is particularly strong in those who are under the age of thirty.

In the past, researchers have been puzzled to explain why Americans appear to be the exception among developed countries who are drifting towards secularism. The Pew Forum poll study of trending topics with religion may mean that the United States is starting to follow the lead of European nations where religious affiliation has been in decline for several decades.

How To Live Beliefs: Join A Community

March 6, 2013 under How To Live Beliefs

Many people are wondering how to live beliefs. They have developed a belief system but they seem to have trouble putting this system into practice in the modern world. When someone has a strong belief system, they will often retreat from the world in order to live out their beliefs. Some of these people join cults or other groups that are out of the mainstream of society. The members feel that this is best way to live out their beliefs in a corrupt world.

One such cult is known as the Twelve Tribes. This cult has been around a few decades and can now claim thousands of members around the globe. Their beliefs are based on a strict interpretation of the Bible. They must give up all of their possessions in order to join the group, as Jesus tells his followers to do in the Book of Acts. They must also live communally and share all that they have in common with the other members.

This group represents an ideal way for Bible believers to live out their faith.  Many utilize essential oils in their religious and health practices. Members support themselves through farming and cottage industries. They also build cafes and have construction crews. The cafes are often open 24 hours and are located in towns that have colleges and transient traffic. They do not preach to people who come to eat, but they do leave literature around for those who wish to learn more. The cafes serve as an outreach mechanism in order to find new believers.

Members of the Twelve Tribes also travel to music festivals on large buses to hand out free papers. This group recruited many people from the tours of the Grateful Dead. They found people who were lonely and lost and looking for a place to belong. The members look sort of like hippies with beards and pony tails. The women wear their hair long and dress modestly. While the group is currently considered a cult by many, it will likely end up as an established religion, much like the Amish or the Mormons.

The Influence Of Religion On Health

March 1, 2013 under Religion On Health

The issue of religion is a complex one. Discussing anything to do with religion in a social conversation is capable of making tempers flare thus most people end up avoiding this course. The influence of religion on health on the other hand, is one that has been studied for a while.

The influence of religion on health is sometimes negative in communities where greater emphasis is placed in prayer as the only way to be healed or to avoid getting sick. In such situations, it is quite common to see people refusing to be treated for diseases and other health complications that have a cure based on the belief that God or any other Spiritual deity, will do the healing. Some of the people who subscribe to this kind of belief have also been known to refuse healing on the basis that, the health complications they are suffering from is a form of punishment for the wrong they have done. These people may eventually end up dying from diseases that could have been treated and cured.

On the other end of the scale is the positive influence of religion on health. In fact, many people who have a balanced view of life and a strong belief in a Supreme Being usually benefit tremendously from religious activities and prayer. Research shows that people in most communities who have a strong religious affiliation have lower mortality rates and higher chances of recovering from serious health complications. Most experts attribute this to lower stress levels because religious people believe there is someone else far better able to deal with their problems. Other studies have also shown that praying for a sick person with or without their knowledge has a positive effect on their recovery process.

In most situations, the impact of religion on health is usually positive especially among people who also believe in the benefits of using modern medicine like garcinia cambogia. Religion should therefore never be underestimated when it comes to promoting good health.
